The IPATIMUP strongly bets in the training of human resources in the biomedical sciences area.
The IPATIMUP reaches in 2005, 50 Medicine, Biology and Human Biology doctorates.
The IPATIMUP develop, a long ago, a significant interchange program with other European, American and PALOP countries, which allowed until now, the postgraduate training to more than 200 trainee students mostly pathologist doctors and scientists from Brazil, Spain, other Community Europe Countries, from East Europe and Mozambique.
The IPATIMUP keep a strong relationship with Brazil. In 1997 made a tour around 6 states, having trained more than 400 pathologists and Brazilian pathology internals.
The IPATIMUP has, in the education and training domain, a joint with the IBMC and INEB, as well as several Faculties of the University of Porto, S. João Hospital, IPO Porto and some Research Centers/Institutes of the Universities of Minho, Aveiro e Coimbra.
