Maria Miguel Castro graduated in Biochemistry from the University of Évora (2014), and completed an MSc degree in Biochemistry (2016) from the Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto/ Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar. Currently, Maria is doing a doctoral program in Biomedicine at FMUP. MMCastro has published 6 papers in a peer-reviewed international journal (one as author). Her research interests include triple-negative breast cancer, inflammatory breast cancer, cancer metastasis, cell-cell adhesion, cancer stem cells, cancer epigenetics, and oxidative stress.
