This department is responsible for the management, maintenance and development of the informatics infrastructure (physical and logical), in particularly:
 - The communication infrastructure (actives and passives)
 - The informatics park (PC’s, servers and peripherals)
 - Fundamental services like authentication of users, maintenance and backup of data, e-mail, databases, etc.
 - Other specific services created internally or bought, depending of their maintenance contract, the management/maintenance could be shared with the supplier.

The Informatics department is also responsible for the AD001’s Information Systems development and maintenance, with eventually use of outsourcing.
