My current research interests involve the identification of genetic susceptibility markers associated with risk of development of complex diseases, such as gastric cancer, Crohn’s disease and thyroid autoimmune diaseases. My line of research is particularly focused on the design and analysis of genetic association studies employing experimental strategies like linkage disequilibrium mapping and tools like HapMap and other human genetic variation databases.
