Outreach Activities
Public Awareness of Cancer

Prevention and early diagnosis are the best strategy for the long-term control of cancer. The limited cancer literacy of the general public impairs effective awareness and prevention behaviors.
Our research aims to provide innovative and comprehensive cancer education programs, targeted for specific audiences (e.g. teens, teachers). Our group is focused on the development, promotion and evaluation of strategies that use state of the art information and communication technologies, to foster cancer awareness in the community. We want to empower people with information and decision-making skills in order to engage them not only in cancer prevention and early diagnosis, but also in treatment and rehabilitation.
Overall, we aim to provide education, outreach and training that promote health and wellness in the community.
