Vanessa Machado is a Visiting Researcher at i3S, in the Differentiation and Cancer group. She obtained her PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Algarve and worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at Queen Mary University of London.

Vanessa has studied the modulation of neurogenesis in mice and the cardiac differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells in culture. At i3S, she advanced her stem cell experience by working with organoids derived from intestinal stem cells.
