Professional Experience

Since 1st April 2012 - Individual grant de Doutoramento com a referência SFRH/BD/76237/2011, atribuída pela Fundação da Ciência e Tecnologia do Ministério da Educação e Ciência.

From 2009 to 2012 - Invited assistent professor in Bioengineering degree of the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP) in collaboration with the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas de Abel Salazar da Universidade do Porto (ICBAS-UP).

From 2008 to 2012 - Veterinary Diagnostic Histopathology in the Laboratory of Veterinary Pathology ICBAS-UP.

Academic and Professional Education

2013 - 4th year of the PhD in Veterinary Sciences ICBAS-UP, under the main supervision of Professor Fátima Gärtner (ICBAS / Ipatimup) and co-supervision of Professor Augusto Faustino (ICBAS) and Professor Celso Reis (ICBAS / Ipatimup).

2008 - Postgraduation in Clinical Laboratory Medicine of Companion Animals (ICBAS-UP).

2007 - Degree in Veterinary Medicine (ICBAS-UP).

From 2009 to date - Residence in Veterinary Pathology for the European College of Veterinary Pathologists, under the supervision of Prof. Fátima Gärtner.

Highlights

Currently, and within the field of veterinary pathology, is developing intense research work in the area of gastric pathology, studing particularly Helicobacter spp. infection and gastric carcinogenesis in pets.
Collaborates activelly with other research groups in comparative breast cancer.
Participates in multidisciplinary research projects focused on the development of products in the areas of regenerative medicine and cellular therapies, including the use of biomaterials and application of stem cells.
